Bahrain set to host sustainability workshops

The Bahrain Centre for Strategic and International and Energy Studies (Derasat) will launch tomorrow a series of workshops to analyse how to promote the sustainable development goals through innovation and economic diversification.

The event is organised jointly with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for West Asia (ESCWA).

The workshop will gather several participants, including government authorities, entrepreneurs, academic institutions, civil society organizations and representatives of the media.

The first workshop will be held under the title “Technology and Innovation: Means of Economic Diversification”. Sessions, led by experts and several UN Agencies, will aim to foster the role of technology and innovation in implementing the 2030 Development Agenda while highlighting the progress of national strategies to build a knowledge-based economy in Bahrain.

The second workshop, which will be held on the March 13-14 under the title “Economic Diversification and Competitiveness: From Policies to Implementation” at the Radisson Blu Hotel, will aim to raise awareness about the challenges and opportunities of the fast-changing international landscape, identify opportunities to raise the Kingdom’s competitiveness and analyze options towards economic diversification. – TradeArabia News Service
