Speaker session in progress at the 2017 edition of the event

Experts to highlight trends at ME Lighting Design Summit

DUBAI, November 13, 2017

An impressive line-up of experts will speak on a range of lighting design topics, including lighting systems of the future at the next Middle East Lighting Design Summit in Dubai, UAE.

The seventh edition of the summit will take place on May 2 and 3, 2018 said event organiser Expotrade.

Where in previous years, the event has focused on aspects such as smart lighting, public lighting and streetlighting, the 2018 summit will lay a strong emphasis on lighting design and the current trends, technologies and practices that are shaping the lighting design industry.

The summit will see speakers focusing on human-centric lighting; the importance of lighting in interior design; indoor light management; architectural lighting; and urban lighting design concepts.

Lighting design is becoming increasingly significant across the region, especially as it is forecast to be one of the fastest growing markets. Furthermore, the GCC has already committed to reducing its carbon footprint and electricity demand by 2025, with extensive targets in place to achieve this - and companies are striving to improve visual appeal whilst simultaneously employing sustainable methods of lighting.

Brad Hariharan, regional director, Expotrade Middle East, said: “With the ever-increasing digitalisation of light, technology and connectivity, lighting companies are set to adapt their business models and devise a new approach to industry growth. At next year’s summit, these types of companies will be part of the 400-plus lighting professionals from across the region that will meet to gain new insights and opportunities to discuss new technologies, trends and the future of the lighting design industry.”

The event will include the world’s leading manufacturers showcasing their most innovative products and applications – the previous edition saw household names such as Philips, Osram, EE Consulting, Tecon and Fael Luce participate at the event.

“The seventh Annual Middle East Lighting Design Summit will not only offer leading and international experts speaking on a range of topics, but it will also provide delegates with an ideal opportunity to learn more about the potential within the market, developing trends and emerging technologies driving the sector,” Hariharan added.- TradeArabia News Service
