Oman Drydock Co repairs 2 OSC carriers

MUSCAT, July 12, 2017

Oman Drydock Company (ODC), a shipyard specialising in ship repair and conversion, has completed the drydocking and maintenance of two ultra large ore carriers, Liwa Max and Sohar Max, of Oman Shipping Company (OSC), said a report.

The move strengthens the vital partnership that will extend across a number of subsidiaries of the ASYAD Group (formerly Oman Global Logistics Group), the holding company of state-owned assets in port, transport, shipping and logistics entities, added the Oman Daily Observer report.

Abdulrahman al Hatmi, CEO of ASYAD Group, said that the partnership is one of the highlights of the group’s achievements which will help optimise the utilisation of its various capabilities and resources in fuelling Oman’s economic development and boosting returns on government investments in the group, it added.
