Alba chairman visits Line 5, Line 6 Expansion site

MANAMA, May 28, 2017

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading international aluminium smelter based in Bahrain, reported that its chairman of board of directors Shaikh Daij Bin Salman Bin Daij Al Khalifa visited Alba Reduction Line 5 and Line 6 Expansion Project last week to review its ongoing progress.

Alba’s chief executive officer Tim Murray; chief financial officer Ali Al Baqalil; chief marketing officer Khalid Latif and other top representatives, accompanied Shaikh Daij during his visit, said a statement from the company.

The chairman reviewed the progress of Reduction Line 5 recovery following the power outage and urged the employees to continue their efforts towards meeting Line 5 recovery goals in a timely and safe manner, it said.

Shaikh Daij also visited the Line 6 Expansion Project site, where he met with the director of Line 6 Smelter Project and Engineering Shawqi Al Hashmi, managers from Line 6 as well as senior officials from International Bechtel Co. Ltd, it added.

The tour included the Line 6 Project area, Power Station 5 site area and the new Carbon and Casthouse plants, said a statement.

Shaikh Daij said: “We are pleased with the progress of Line 5 and thank everyone for their efforts to restore production safely.”

“I commend the Line 6 Expansion Project teams for successfully expediting the works, which will ensure the timely delivery of the project,” he said.

At the end of the visit, the chairman wished everyone on the occasion of the Holy Month of Ramadan and stressed on working safely throughout this period as well as during the summer months, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
