Abu Dhabi Ports has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Emirates Red Crescent to promote humanitarian partnership between the two entities, in response to the “Year of Giving”.

Abu Dhabi Ports is the master developer, operator and manager of the emirate's commercial and community ports as well as Khalifa Industrial Zone.

The agreement is aimed at promoting collaboration in the field of humanitarian and social works between the organisations, in line with their efforts to achieve the best outcome for their implemented policies and strategies, geared towards providing charitable, humanitarian and social work, said a statement from Abu Dhabi Ports.

As outlined in the deal, Abu Dhabi Ports will provide logistics support to Emirates Red Crescent by dedicating a 550-sq-m warehouse in Zayed Port to the charitable organisation, which will be called (The Warehouse of Giving).

Al Shamisi described the agreement as an important addition to Abu Dhabi Ports’ list of partnerships and a significant contribution to optimising the humanitarian aid work of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority.

"As a gesture of humanitarian support for charity and to participate in the spirit of the year of giving announced by the UAE leadership, we are happy to provide a warehouse in Zayed Port for such a great cause," he stated.

Al Shamisi commended the formidable efforts of Emirates Red Crescent Authority to enhance the lives of families in need and help displaced victims of catastrophes and disasters.

Al Falahi said the agreement reflects the will of both sides to co-ordinate efforts and activate co-operation venues to offer humanitarian and charitable work. It enhances a strong partnership to advance humanitarian work in the UAE.

“The deal is a step forward towards adopting initiatives promoting CSR and paving the way to a new level of strategic partnership which will have direct impact on the efforts of both sides in the field of humanitarian work,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
