Iranian team builds simulator for Boeing 737 plane
TEHRAN, January 31, 2017
An Iranian research team in Khuzestan Province designed and built a fully indigenised simulator for Boeing 737 passenger plane, said an official.
The group constructed the simulator system in eight months and all the equipment used in the system were fully home-grown, Afshin Sadeqi, head of the research team, was quoted as saying in an Iran Daily News report, citing Fars News Agency.
He added that the system will be unveiled early February, and said that given the high costs of sending pilots to foreign countries for preliminary training to fly Boeing 737, such a system was built by Iranian experts to save currency.
Iranian experts have made huge progress in designing and developing various types of military simulators in recent years.
Simulators help cadets receive better training and test their piloting and shooting skills in various climatic conditions, added the report.
