Globe Express Services opens new office in Lebanon
BEIRUT, December 8, 2016
Globe Express Services (GES), a leading logistics services firm, has opened its second office in Lebanon at the Middle East Airlines (MEA) Cargo Centre, a dedicated import and export facility within the Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport.
The move comes in line with the company’s expansion plans in the country, said a statement from GES.
The new outlet will enable the company to remain ahead of its competition at a time when cost-efficient express services, which involves definite door-to-door service at a highly economical price, is a game changer, it said.
The MEA Cargo Centre is the epicentre of the Lebanese economy, and the location of GES’ new branch brings it closer to all its stakeholders and partners, enabling it to deliver all air shipments within 24 hours of arrival through the combination of both air and truck freights, it added.
Lebanon, through its fast-developing logistics infrastructure, can be an excellent gateway to cater to the neighbouring region through land transport with Beirut as the mini-hub, said a statement.
Mustapha Kawam, president and CEO of GES, said: “As a multinational group operating in the Middle East, our company has bolstered its operations in the region while being farsighted for better times.”
“We are gearing up for the economic rebirth of the Levant region and the opening of a second office in Lebanon’s airport is a major step in the right direction,” he added.
GES is a full-service, global logistics services provider with a strong presence in Lebanon where it opened its first office at Medawar, Saifi - Pasteur Street in Beirut. It began operations in 1974 and currently serves the global markets through its 57 corporate offices in 20 countries, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
