Alba awards employees Lean Six Sigma certificates

MANAMA, November 8, 2016

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading international aluminium smelter, has awarded its employees with Lean Six Sigma’s certifications during a recent ceremony held at the Oasis Hall, in Manama, Bahrain.
 
Organised by Alba’s operational excellence department, this ceremony was led by chief executive officer Tim Murray and attended by the executives, directors and managers.

The ceremony’s guest of honour was the president of Bahrain Quality Society, Dr Khalid Bomataia.
 
A total number of 63 employees were certified out of which six were Black Belt certified, 63 were Green Belt certified and 10 were Yellow Belt certified. Also, the total number of projects completed for certification were 37.
 
Murray said: “Alba is constantly pushing the envelope to achieve goals of efficiency and cost-competitiveness.”

“We believe that it is important to discover what we do rather than invent new ways to get things done. Our company is proud of the success pathway it has set for its workforce who believe in our goals and values and contribute towards our continuous improvement initiatives,” he said.

“I commend our teams for their contribution in enhancing the overall processes of their departments and the company, and wish them all the best in their future endeavours,” he added.
 
Alba has been a strong proponent of Lean Six Sigma Methodology and has undertaken numerous initiatives that will enable the company to achieve its goals for operational efficiency and global competitiveness, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
