$71m deals signed at Milipol Qatar

A total of 11 contracts worth QR260.05 million ($71.42 million) were confirmed for different Ministry of Interior (MoI) departments at the Milipol Qatar, which is currently being held in Doha, Qatar.
The 11th edition of the biannual event will conclude later today (November 2) at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center.
The contracts were revealed at a press conference attended by Brigadier Nasser bin Fahad Al Thani, president of Milipol Qatar Committee; Brigadier Ahmad Abdulla Al Jamal, director of Financial Affairs Department in the Ministry of the Interior and a member of the Milipol Committee; and Brigadier Saud Rashid Al Shafi, assistant director general of the general directorate of logistics and member of Milipol Qatar committee.
Airbus Defence and Space bagged a contract worth QR11.5 million ($3.16 million) for the maintenance, support and upgradation of the Tetra system, it said.
UK’s De La Rue, a banknote manufacturer, security printing, and papermaking company, gained a contract worth QR22.25 million ($6.11 million) for supplying travel documents printers, it added.
The third contract was bagged by GET Group for the maintenance of residency printers and their consumables worth QR10 million ($2.75 million), while the fourth contract worth QR7.8 million ($2.14 million) was gained by Safran Identity & Security for the renovation of the finger printing system and expansion of finger printing database devices.
Brig Al Shafi announced the fifth contract for Abdullah Abdul Ghani & Bros Company for the supply of 120 different Toyota cars worth QR25.4 million ($6.98 million) and the sixth contract was awarded to Saleh Hamad Al Mana Company for the supply of 30 different Nissan cars worth QR6.7 million ($1.84 million), said a statement.
The seventh contract went to Gulf Business Machines (GBM) for the licenses for operating programmes and the development of the central systems of information systems of the MoI worth QR21.7 million ($5.96 million), while the Telco International gained the eighth contract worth QR7.8 million ($2.14 million) for the maintenance and data collection for traffic radar devices, it added.
The ninth, tenth and eleventh contracts were awarded to Al Tanmiyah for the maintenance and data collection for traffic radar devices for QR4.4 million ($1.21 million), Sail Labs Technology of Austria for comprehensive media monitoring systems worth QR2.5 million ($686,596) and Ares Beskitas of Turkey for the addition of equipment and weapons for boats worth QR140 million ($38.4 million) respectively, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
