Redington sets up new consulting arm for MEA

DUBAI, October 15, 2016

Redington Value, the value-added distribution division of Redington Gulf, has announced the launch of Uniplum – a new consulting arm that aims to enhance its partners' capabilities in transformation technologies such as cloud, big data, Internet of Things (IoT) and digital disruptions.

Uniplum consists of a team of technologists and problem solvers from different verticals and solutions with an ability to inform, explore and confirm decisions, solve complex problems and bring new ideas into the market.

An integral part of Redington Value, the new division aims to provide consulting on new technology and solutions for numerous verticals and help partners to sell those solutions.

Redington Value offers products and solutions across technologies ranging from networking, voice, servers and storage to software, security and infrastructure,

Commenting on the launch, Ramkumar Balakrishnan, the president of Redington Value Distribution, said Uniplum will enable its channel partners to help their clients find solutions for simple to complex business problems and nurture innovation.

"With Uniplum, we are excited to offer this bouquet of consulting services to our vast partner network in the META (Middle East, Turkey and Africa] region and bring the right capabilities for their clients," stated Balakrishnan.

"Partners will not only be able to leverage these cutting-edge consulting services but also be able to address the requirements of their mid-market and enterprise customers, to solve business problems and challenges, and to win business in the next generation disruptive technologies’ space," he added.

The setting up of the new consulting arm, he stated, is an attempt to help its partners embrace all these new technological trends and stay ahead of the game in a highly competitive environment.

"If you consider all these game changers such as cloud, mobility, IoT and the whole converged infrastructure including big data and analytics, they are not just products but a whole gamut of solutions. The most important aspect is to enhance our partners' abilities to sell these solutions. And to do that they need to understand what the underlying business problems are, and there comes the need for greater consultation and collaboration," he said.

Uniplum will be introduced across Redington Value divisions in the META and expanded to other regions in a phased manner.

The announcement comes ahead of Gitex Technology Week 2016 where the company is showcasing its state-of-the-art solutions centre at its new headquarters in Dubai.

Red Vault is a fully functional solutions centre with one of the largest interactive transparent display in the region.
The integrated touch panels of the solutions centre will connect to fully operational control and training rooms running live demos of various solutions and integrates more than 40 different solutions from various vendors, thereby making it the only such facility in the region with a multi-vendor environment.

“Both the solution centre and Uniplum are geared towards enabling our partners' transformation from being product-centric to becoming solution-centric. Our idea is to deliver integrated, end-to-end solutions from strategy and innovation through to execution to solve our clients' most complex and pressing business challenges," said Balakrishnan.

Redington Value will also hold the first-of-its-kind Partner Council Week to coincide with Gitex Technology Week 2016.-TradeArabia News Service
