MUSCAT, September 29, 2016

Oman-based Al Batinah Development and Investment Holding’s board has decided to invest in a project to produce bottled water, soft drinks and juice in Saham (North Batinah), said a report.

Al Batinah will invest 35 per cent of the equity, while the remaining equity stake will be held by another partner, added the Times of Oman report.

The project, which has a licence, plans to start construction work in November, while commercial operation is expected in August 2017, according to a disclosure statement from Al Batinah Development.

Al Batinah Development has also decided to acquire 75 per cent ownership in a medical centre in Muscat.

The total investment for these two projects is estimated at RO500,000 ($1.2 million), added the report.
