Chinese automaker Geely has unveiled the Emgrand GT equipped with one of its most compact and powerful engine configurations for the GCC market.

The 270bhp 3.5-Litre V6 engine will join the current Emgrand GT line-up which also offers a 2.4Litre 4-cylinder engine for the GCC region. The aluminium engine not only optimizes the power delivery; it also reduces the fuel consumption of the car by five per cent, a statement said.

Geely, listed in Hong Kong Stock Exchange and a Fortune 500 company, has already made ground breaking inroads into the automotive market in the UAE, since its launch in July 2015, under an exclusive dealership arrangement with Union Motors, a division of UAE-headquartered MAN Investments.

The model was awarded the “China Car of the Year 2016”. The Emgrand GT V6 is available in two variants — Elegance and Flagship.

Designed by British veteran designer, Peter Horbury, the ex-design chief of Volvo who now leads Geely Design with 350 international designers team based in Gothenburg, Barcelona, Los Angeles and Shanghai, the latest edition incorporates the fast-back design concept for longer wheel base and improved aerodynamics.

The car interiors have been refurbished with richly textured panels and crisp door panels flowing dynamically into an executive-class dashboard, providing the model with a truly luxurious feel.
