Aramex launches new smartphone app for UAE
DUBAI, June 11, 2016
Aramex, a global provider of comprehensive logistics and transportation solutions, has announced the official launch of its new smartphone app for UAE customers.
The app will ultimately be available for Aramex customers across all markets the company operates in, said a statement from the company.
Customers in the UAE can now use the new app to easily track and manage their shipments. It offers six unique features making the overall customer service experience quicker, easier and more enjoyable.
This includes phone tracking, package visibility, in-app payment, delivery scheduling, live tracking and a courier rating system to asses overall satisfaction, said the statement.
According to Aramex, the use of the new app gives customers more power and control over paying for, tracking and receiving shipments, with instant access to updates available on their smartphones.
“We are excited to launch the new app for our customers in the UAE for the first time, and this is yet another milestone achievement for Aramex. As we continue to move towards becoming a technology-based enterprise, we are innovating and adopting new technologies to make our last-mile delivery solutions more efficient and effective, and consequently grow and retain a loyal customer base," remarked Hussein Wehbe, the general manager of Aramex in the UAE.
"All that the Aramex customers need to do is download the free app on their smartphones, create an account by entering their mobile number and shipping address. Once set up, their information will be automatically populated and stored," he added.
Wehbe said the app launch comes in line with the company's continuous efforts to simplify the parcel delivery process, and give more power and control to the consumer when deciding on how and when they receive their package.
"By putting the power in their hands to control their shipments’ delivery, we are taking a major step in further enhancing our international and domestic express delivery solutions," he added.
Following its launch in the UAE, the app will soon be available in other markets where Aramex operates, both regionally and globally. Saudi Arabia, Egypt, South Africa, India and Australia will be priority markets for introducing the app, said the Aramex in its statement.
The app will also be the cornerstone of Aramex’s “Rapid Scaling-Up” Model, which the business plans to unveil soon, and will support it in leveraging more partnerships with delivery businesses worldwide, extending its global reach and improving delivery transit times, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
