Iran open to Chinese investment in LNG plants

TEHRAN, May 17, 2016

Iran will welcome investments by Chinese firms in the construction of mini liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants in the country, the managing director of National Iranian Gas Exports Company (NIGEC) was quoted as saying in a report.

Alireza Kameli highlighted the experience of Chinese companies in the construction of small- and medium-sized compressed natural gas (CNG) and LNG plants, while speaking to Shana, Iran Daily reported.

Iran aims to diversify gas exports by building CNG and LNG units, he added, noting that Iran is ready to provide LNG units with their requirements in petrochemical feedstock.
