DOHA, May 2, 2016

Barwa Real Estate Group, one of Qatar's largest listed real estate companies, plans to set up a warehousing project aimed at diversifying investments and increasing its presence in the local market, a senior Barwa official said in a report.

Barwa plans to sign an agreement with Economic Zones Company (Manateq) for the warehousing project.

The warehousing complex, on a 253,000-sq-m plot, will also include support functions, ancillary building, and other infrastructure, Barwa’s group CEO Salman Mohamad Al Muhannadi was quoted as saying in the Gulf Times report.

He added that the company has already completed the tender process and valuation, and is about to sign the agreement with Manateq.

Al Muhannadi said that announcements will soon be made about the company's Dara project in Lusail, Barwa Village, and Barwa Doha projects.

He also announced updates on the QR1.5 billion ($411.9 million) Motor City project, aimed at providing showrooms for used cars, including related facilities and services in the suburbs of Rawdat Rashid along Salwa Road, added the report.
