UAE’s $27bn logistics market to be highlighted at cargo event
DUBAI, March 6, 2016
The UAE’s logistics market worth $27 billion and the various transport infrastructure projects underway in the country, will be highlighted at the Cargo Show Middle East and North Africa (Mena), to be held later this week, in Dubai, UAE.
Cargo Show Mena is the most comprehensive supply chain and logistics event in the region, and will be taking place alongside Middle East Rail on March 8 and 9, at the Dubai International Convention Centre.
Speaking ahead of the event, Jamie Hosie, project director, said: “Multimodal transport infrastructure investment in the region is booming and the logistics industry needs to know how this will impact their business.”
“We look forward to welcoming key decision makers in the region under one roof to discuss the industry’s potential, exchange knowledge, and network with potential partners or clients,” he said.
The event will be held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan,
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.
The show will bring together over 3000 supply chain managers and logistics professionals to learn about local developments, establish contacts and exchange their knowledge on the current scene of the industry, said a statement.
The key topics to be discussed during the conference include: The future of multimodal integration in the Middle East, leading the race to a seamless, integrated trade corridor, building a global sustainable value chain for the dynamics of the 21st century, and building mega ports of the future, it added.
Alongside the exhibition, conferences and the demos, the show will introduce ‘The Game of Chains’, which is an interactive case study in which companies can test their strength and weaknesses in planning strategies at times of crisis, it said.
With two conference streams covering supply chain management, infrastructure development, shipping trends and air cargo, alongside a dedicated exhibition, the two-day programme promises to offer a valuable learning for every part of the cargo ecosystem at the show, further added the statement.
