Ducab of the UAE is showcasing its market-leading cabling systems at the Gulf Industry Fair.

NuBICC, its famous certified cable range designed to service nuclear power plants, is one such product, according to Ulhas Menon, sales manager of Ducab’s branch in Bahrain.

He says this specialised cable has a lot of potential in Bahrain. “We have supplied to the nuclear reactor project in Abu Dhabi, and we are looking at supplying to Saudi Arabia too.”

Other products on display include rubber and fire- and flame-retardant cables including products designed for the oil, gas and petrochemical sector such as PetroBICC and its flexible rubber cables RuBICC.

Menon says Ducab’s cables are being used in solar projects in line with the widespread green initiatives being taken across the region.

He says Ducab’s year has started positively, and is hopeful that it will perform well in the residential and commercial market segments too.

“Our aim at the Gulf Industry Fair is to demonstrate the capabilities of our products as well as spearhead current and future innovation projects in the cables sector,” states Menon.

Mohammed Al Mutawa, chief commercial officer, Ducab, says: “Bahrain is an important market for our products. As the first cable company to have its products environmental management system (EMS) certified, we see the Gulf Industry Fair as an opportunity to share our vast experience and expertise with decision-makers in the industry.”

A joint venture owned by the Investment Corporation of Dubai and Senaat of Abu Dhabi, Ducab operates five manufacturing facilities.

Ducab and Senaat have also set up the Ducab Aluminium Company, a 50,000-tonnes-per-annum (tpa) aluminium rod mill, which will be completed by the end of next year.

The Dubai firm’s Bahrain branch – BICC MET – and warehouse, which are located in Ras Zuwayed industrial area, supply to various clients including Diyar Al Muharraq, Bahrain International Airport and Bahrain’s affordable housing public private partnership project.

Ducab is also supplying its cables to The Avenues mall project in Bahrain. - TradeArabia News Service
