FLSmidth to build cement plant worth $223m in Algeria
COPENHAGEN, February 9, 2016
Denmark-based FLSmidth has signed an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract with SARL Amouda Engineering worth €200 million ($223.8 million) for the supply of a greenfield cement plant in Algeria.
The plant will be located in El Beida (Laghouat), approximately 400 km from the capital Algiers, and following completion the plant will possess a capacity of 6,000 tonnes per day, said a statement from the company.
The order includes engineering, equipment supplies, construction, commissioning and training, it added.
Per Mejnert Kristensen, group executive vice president, FLSmidth, said: “Algeria is a very important market for the company and we have supplied several cement plants in the country.”
The order will be booked by the cement division and contribute beneficially to FLSmidth's earnings until early 2018, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
