Japanese trade delegation visits SAIF Zone
SHARJAH, January 31, 2016
A Japanese trade delegation of 27 members recently visited the Sharjah Airport International Free Zone (SAIF Zone) to explore investment opportunities and strengthen the economic relations between SAIF Zone and Japanese traders.
The delegation, consisting of members from The Re-Use Motorisation Alliance (RUM Alliance), was led by Norihiko Kondo, and held discussions with Raed Bukhatir, deputy commercial director of SAIF Zone, said a statement from the zone.
In a presentation held during the visit, Bukhatir briefed the delegation on the various projects and activities, facilities and advantages offered by the free zone in different investment sectors. He also addressed the Q&A session, it said.
Bukhatir said: “We provide investors with a range of administrative and licensing services under one roof, along with technical support services, obtained through a set of services related to a distinctive set of technical solutions provided by Information systems management, living up to the requirements of companies specialised in IT sector.”
Saud Saim Al Mazrouei, director of SAIF Zone and the Hamriyah Free Zone, highlighted the economic relations between the UAE and Japan, and said that the visit will strengthen and promote the interest from both sides.
Al Mazrouei said: “The UAE is Japan’s fifth largest export destination of passenger motor cars in the world creating a huge scope for used engine trade.”
“We had visited some automobile companies in Japan including Hino to explore the Japanese auto market in order to utilise their expertise.”
Maqbool Ahmad Shad, executive director of Kaiho Middle East (KME), the local subsidiary of Kaiho Sangyo Co. Ltd in Japan and a member of the Japanese business team, expressed his happiness over the visit of delegation, further added the statement.
SAIF Zone houses more than 7,000 companies from 149 countries with over 45 thousand investors and employees. It meets the highest international standards in providing quality services, robust infrastructure and state-of-the-art management, it stated. – TradeArabia News Service
