Cossé ... we will build on our portfolio of energy events

Dmg events gets VP for Mideast energy division

UAE, December 10, 2015

Dmg events, an international exhibitions company, has promoted Jean-Philippe Cossé to the position of vice president for the company’s Middle East and Asia (MEA) energy division.

Prior to his new role, Cossé served as the event director for the company’s leading oil and gas event, the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (Adipec), and has led it to remarkable success over the past three years, said a statement from dmg events.

As the head of the region’s energy portfolio, he will oversee Adipec, Middle East Heavy Oil Congress, and the Middle East Refining and Petrochemical Conference along its oil and gas publication ‘Pipeline Middle East.’

As Adipec’s event director, Cossé ensured the growth of the event while remaining relevant to the changing demands of the industry. Under his leadership, the event grew nearly 30 per cent in 2015 in gross area, 25 per cent increase in visitors, and 9.7 per cent in exhibiting companies in comparison to 2014, said the international exhibitions company in a statement.

His past experience include working on large scale events such as Gitex Technology Week, World Travel Market and Arabian Travel Market, it added.

Welcoming Cossé into the fold, Geoff Dickinson, the CEO for MEA region, said: “Cossé brings with him over 15 years of extensive professional experience which has helped him grow Adipec into one of the world’s most prominent and important meeting points for the oil and gas industry.”

“He is an asset to the company and I congratulate him on a well-deserved promotion. We look forward to expanding the portfolio into new emerging and frontier markets to provide a critical platform for professionals to discuss matters impacting the industry and identify new and alternate opportunities,” he added.

On his new role, Cossé commented: “With fluctuations surrounding the oil and gas industry, the Middle East region remains one of the most attractive markets where business can still be done.”

“Looking ahead to 2016, we will build on our portfolio of energy events such as the Women in Industry Forum that is set to take place in Abu Dhabi in May 2016, whilst at the same time, ensure that Adipec continues to evolve and address the needs and requirements of the industry that we serve,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
