Al Khalij Cement Company (AKCC), a subsidiary of Qatari Investors Group, has announced that it has started its trial production at its new expansion line, a report said.

With the addition of this new expansion line, the total cement grinding capacity of AKCC will reach 15,500 tonnes per day (tpd), an increase of 9,500 tpd, added the Qatar News Agency report.

The investment in the new production line cost an investment of QR800 million ($219.8 million), said the report.

Additionally, this will result in an increase of 6,000 tpd of total clinker production capacity, attaining total of 12,000 tpd, added the report.
