Oman imports a number of products from Austria
Austria, Oman eye 70pc increase in bilateral trade

The bilateral trade relations between Oman and Austria is expected to experience a major growth of 70 per cent this year, said a senior Austrian official in a report.
The trade figures have already touched an all-time record of €101 million ($107.1 million) last year which is a 27 per cent growth from previous year, and this year is all set to break the last year’s record, Reinhart Zimmermann, Austrian economic and commercial counsellor, was quoted as saying in an Oman Daily Observer report.
Speaking on side-lines of a ceremony which hosted a 10-member Austrian business delegation to Otaman and UAE, Zimmermann added that the bilateral trade figures from January to June this year has already touched €60 million ($63.6 million), and we are confident that it will reach the projections.
Oman imports a number of products from Austria which mainly include firefighting and special purpose vehicles for the airports in the sultanate. Other products include seamless pipes for Oman’s oil and gas sector, some spare parts of leading car manufacturers too are imported from Austria, said the report.
Many of the leading automotives have their engine manufactured in Vienna, the capital of Austria, it added.
Additionally, some leading brands are using Vienna as their assembling centres as well. Austria has waste collection and processing services being delivered to Oman.
Oman is a country with lots of geographical potential and friendly people, which possesses a lot of opportunities for business and trade, said Walter Ruck, president of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WKO), accompanied by a business delegation consisting of Austrian companies.

The delegation which included, besides Vienna Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Austro-Arab Chamber of Commerce, AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, BauerTech GmbH, CES clean energy solutions GesmbH, Kimta Tec eU, Regenmaker Consulting eU, Scheibner Business Development GmbH, UniCredit Bank Austria AG, Vital Energy GmbH, Wideshot Design GmbH, Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, and Foreign Trade Department (Advantage Austria), had met with OCCI and Ithraa officials besides holding several B2B meetings with potential traders and business people in Oman.
