DUBAI, October 29, 2015
Dubai-based D2M Solutions, a platinum partner of Stratasys in the Middle East, is set to showcase some examples of how 3D printing is changing the world at an event in Dubai, UAE.
The company has brought together innovative applications of 3D printing in the aerospace, automotive, medical, art, and construction sectors at the 3D Printshow, which will run from November 8 to 12 at the Dubai World Central, said a statement.
The booth, which is being co-located within the Dubai Airshow, has been designed to showcase some unique examples of 3D printing; never before seen in Dubai.
D2M has its show-stopping aerospace centre feature under wraps until opening day, and only stated that they will be hosting an exciting UAV feature.
A D2M spokesman discussed that for the first time ever in Dubai, artist Michael Winstone will exhibit some beautiful examples of his 3D printed sculpture.
“We are excited that Michael Winstone will be with us in Dubai to talk about the concept of his work and his creative journey. Michael’s 3D printed work has featured internationally, at the 3D Printshow in London and New York, and his work is housed in public and private collections in Europe, Asia and America. We are especially pleased to have Michael as a guest at the D2M stand within the Dubai 3D Printshow, personally introducing his work to the Emirates.”
D2M Solutions further said that they would be showing prototype automotive parts from luxury vehicle manufacturer Lamborghini, a company that uses Stratasys 3D printers for its advanced product development process, said the statement.
With diverse sectors now using professional 3D printers D2M has selected some of the very best examples to exhibit at the show, it said.
D2M will be showing 3D printed medical models, and it expects the UAE healthcare sector will be interested to see how 3D printing is saving and improving lives.
“3D printing is not only being used to create unique and customized medical devices and patient aids, but is saving lives and reducing theatre time, by giving doctors an accurate physical model on which they can base complex surgery planning. This is an area that can positively impact the outcome of difficult operations,” a company spokesperson said. - TradeArabia News Service
