Honeywell signs on Al-Raha to enhance maintenance support

JEDDAH, September 9, 2015

Honeywell Aerospace, a leading manufacturer of aircraft engines and avionics, has signed a deal with Al-Raha Group for Technical Services (RGTS) to distribute aftermarket mechanical and avionics products in Saudi Arabia.

The Saudi Arabia-based firm will distribute spare parts for commercial rotary wing and military fixed and rotary wing platforms, said a statement.

Honeywell customers within the kingdom will no longer have to wait for ordered parts to be shipped from the US, and the shortened lead time will reduce the amount of time aircraft and helicopters have to spend on the ground, it said.

The agreement, in turn, will help increase aircraft availability, ensuring assets are available to deploy as needed.

The future plans with the company include supporting operators with local technical assistance, and providing repair and overhaul services in Saudi Arabia and abroad, said the statement.

The agreement with RGTS is an important step in expanding Honeywell’s customer support in the kingdom, and continuing its commitment to provide best-in-class service and support to its global customers, it said.

Honeywell now has three aftermarket suppliers in the Middle East region to help defense customers optimise maintenance, ensure safety and improve operational efficiency, it added. - TradeArabia News Service
