Mondelez Egypt opens new production line

Mondelez Egypt Foods has opened a new production line for Marvelous Creations Chocolate, a Cadbury innovation.

The new chocolate was introduced to the market at the beginning of April, owing its original and innovative characteristics in shape, and taste with an exciting recipe of unique blend of amazing ingredients offered by Cadbury to chocolate lovers for the first time in Egypt and the Middle East, said a statement.

Sherien Ezzat Hassaballah, Mondelez North Africa chocolate marketing director, said: ”We are a global leader in the Egyptian market where the competition is very high. In order to maintain our competitiveness, we strive to always offer new ideas and innovations, to fulfill consumer taste and desires for new flavors and search for a new touch to satisfy the evolving taste of chocolate lovers.

"The Marvelous Creations production process is very high-tech, a lot of investments were put into bringing the production line to Egypt after it proved to be a great success all over the world, especially in the UK and Australia. I dare say that we now have a strong platform in the field of product innovation in the Middle East.”

Bassil Abul Ata, chief executive officer and managing direct of Mondelez Egypt and Levant, said: ”So far we have invested nearly EGP200 million in the establishment of new production lines in Egypt so that we can offer outstanding products such as Marvelous Creations to the Egyptian an regional consumer.

We have trained about 125 workers on the latest production methods, working on transferring production technology from abroad into the domestic market. It is expected that Marvelous Creations will increase the company's chocolate exports in 2015, for Egypt is the export hub for more than 20 countries in the region.” - TradeArabia News Service
