SDV-UAE opens new warehousing facility at Dafza
DUBAI, April 14, 2015
SDV-UAE, a leading transport and logistics provider in the region, has opened a new corporate and warehousing facility at the Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (Dafza).
The launch forms part of SDV’s strategy of capitalising on the strategic location and logistics-friendly capabilities of the free zone and Dubai in general to further broaden its local and regional presence, said a statement.
Dafza is considered one of the Middle East’s most preferred business and commercial hubs, with logistics and freight companies – including industry leaders TNT, FedEx, and DHL – accounting for the fourth largest represented sector in the free zone.
SDV’s new facility will leverage Dafza’s advanced logistics infrastructure and services to consistently meet the stringent demands of customers in the aerospace, luxury, cosmetics and telecommunications industry.
In a plot size of 5,000 sqm, the multi-function SDV-UAE building includes an office at 750 sqm and a 2,220 sqm warehouse, with controlled temperature and humidity.
The warehouse features biometric access, 24-hour onsite security, CCTV surveillance, two 6m x 5m Fast Action Loading Doors, and storage systems that can be tailored to meet specific customer needs.
Amna Lootah, assistant director general, Finance and Commercial at Dafza, said: “SDV-UAE is an excellent addition to Dafza’s high-profile group of multinational corporations specialised in freight forwarding and logistics.
“Its presence reflects the status of the free zone and Dubai as a preferred destination for setting up and expanding transport and logistics operations targeting the dynamic Middle Eastern markets. We look forward to benefitting from the expertise and the local and global connections of SDV as well.”
SDV-UAE was launched in 2008 as a joint venture between prominent regional players, dnata Cargo and Kanoo Group and the France-based global logistics leader SDV International Logistics, a subsidiary of Bolloré Group. - TradeArabia News Service
