Ma'aden restarts ammonia plant

AL KHOBAR, February 22, 2015

Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma'aden) said on Sunday that a subsidiary had restarted its ammonia plant after scheduled maintenance.

Ma'aden, the Gulf's largest miner, shut the facility in Ras Al Khair, which it shares with Saudi Basic Industries Corp (Sabic), from January 23 for about 30 days.

In a statement on the Saudi bourse, it said the facility had come back online on Feb 20.

Ma'aden reiterated that "the scheduled maintenance had no impact on the company's ability to meet its obligations towards its customer and had no significant financial impact." Ma'aden Phosphate Co is 70 percent owned by Ma'aden, while Sabic holds the rest. -Reuters
