Al Maha Ceramics ... to increase capacity.

Al Maha Ceramics to expand factory capacity

MUSCAT, February 19, 2015

Al Maha Ceramics, a leading ceramic tile producing company in Middle East, will soon start work on the project to increase its capacity, said a report.

Arvind Bindra, CEO of Al Maha Ceramics, was quoted by the Oman Daily Observer as saying the work on the first phase of the project of approximately 3.8 million sq-m would commence immediately, while the work on the second phase is planned after the expansion of the first phase is completed.

After the expansion, the production capacity of the existing factory at Sohar is expected to increase by 120 per cent, he said.

Masoud Humaid Malik al Harthy, chairman of the company, said the company would focus on the export markets of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Yemen for future growths.

The development of Sohar Port and the new road connection between Oman and Saudi Arabia is likely to benefit Al Maha in exporting its products within the GCC, he said.
