Newtec....expands into new markets

Newtec marks 30 years with 20pc sales growth

SINT-NIKLAAS, Belgium, February 11, 2015

Newtec, a specialist in designing, developing and manufacturing equipment and technologies for satellite communications, kick-started its 30th anniversary celebrations, announcing significant sales growth and expanding into new markets.

The firm was founded in 1985 by two engineers with a vision, Dirk Breynaert, the company’s current chief technology officer, and Jean-Marie Maes.

Newtec’s specialisation in research and development (R&D) paved the way to its extensive portfolio of innovations, partnerships, standardisations and industry recognition for broadcast, government and defense, IP trunking and consumer and enterprise VSAT.

Through its expertise and co-operation with its customers, Newtec has made the world a safer, more informed and connected place.

Over the last several years, Newtec has performed strongly in its core markets, pointing to market evolution and its strong performance in the direct-to-home (DTH), broadcast systems, consumer and enterprise markets as key drivers for its success in 2014 which saw a 20 per cent sales growth.

The company will retain its focus while also putting a stronger emphasis on fast growing markets, including high throughput satellite (HTS), oil and gas and cellular backhaul, said a statement.

Thomas Van den Driessche, chief commercial officer, said: “These figures underline that our strategic direction is on course to provide a strong base for the future. We have outpaced the market in terms of growth, resulting in us taking a larger proportion of market share.”

The evolving multi-service ecosystem will further fuel this growth, with the Newtec Dialog platform allowing service providers and broadcasters to build and adapt their network easily as their business grows and the market changes.

Serge Van Herch, chief executive officer, said: “A large part of our success is down to our strategic partners in geographical locations and vertical markets. Looking to the future, we will build on this work and continue to shape the satellite industry with efficient, scalable and economical solutions.”

“Newtec was founded to be innovative and an industry leader; with technologies like FlexACM, Cross Layer Optimization, Clean Channel Technology, Automated Equalink and, most recently Mx-DMA,” added Breynaert. - TradeArabia News Service
