Philips new monitor ..... pre-calibrated to render colours accurately.

MMD, Philips releases new 27-inch display monitor

DUBAI, January 18, 2015

MMD, a leading technology company and brand license partner for Philips Monitors, has announced the launch of a new 27-inch IPS-AHVA display with factory-calibrated colour support across the Adobe RGB colour space.

The display with a wide range of Adobe RGB, can reproduce over one billion colours with near-total fidelity, giving professional users the confidence that the colours on the display are consistent with industry standards – for colour precision throughout the entire production workflow, said a company statement.

In graphic design, geophysical exploration, digital prepress and post-production, there is no room for a display that gets creative on how it represents colours, uniformity and accuracy are critical.

Thomas Schade, vice president of EMEA at MMD, said: “Having a colour standard is like speaking the same language.”

“Professional users need to be certain their display speaks the same colour language as their printers and other devices in the workflow. The new Philips LCD display renders colours with unfailing accuracy every time,” he added.

Pre-calibrated to render colours accurately, the 272P4APJKHB display supports 99 per cent Adobe RGB and 100 per cent sRGB colour space, eliminating the process of matching colours across multiple devices.  Moreover, with six-axis adjustment, PerfektKolor enables the display colours to be fine-tuned to precise requirements.

The new 27-inch display which uses 10 bits to describe each colour can represent over one billion colours simultaneously – differences that are indistinguishable to the human eye. The resulting images are smooth and natural, without gradations or colour banding.

Fluctuations in brightness and colour on different areas of the screen are a common phenomenon. With SmartUniformity metrics, the display auto-adjusts to compensate for these differences, and delivers average luminance uniformity in excess of 95 per cent - vital for consistency in colour-critical applications such as photography and scientific imaging.

Philips Flicker-Free Technology is an innovative solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for a more comfortable viewing experience.

The new IPS-AHVA display is also designed featuring a webcam and speakers, crystal-clear Quad HD images at 2560x1440 or 2560x1080 resolution, an extra-wide viewing angle for image clarity from nearly any perspective, and the tilt-and-swivel flexibility of the SmartErgoBase.

Along with the MultiView option, the display connects to multiple sources simultaneously, enabling users to view a notebook feed on one part of the screen, for example, and data from the camera on the other, it added. – TradeArabia News Service
