Big demand for fiberglass pipe systems in the GCC.
GCC 'a key market for fiberglass pipes'
DUBAI, January 13, 2015
GCC is one of the key markets for fiberglass pipes worldwide with a market share of about 26 per cent, a leading producer said.
The use of fiberglass pipes is estimated at 5 per cent within the oil and gas industry, Future Pipe Industries (FPI), a global leader in anti-corrosive fiberglass pipe system design and manufacturing, was quoted as saying by a statement.
“The GCC now boasts one fourth of the total length of the world’s most efficient pipeline. Fiberglass is a crucial choice for GCC manufacturers as it offers corrosion-resistant properties,” added Satish Khanna, general manager, Al Fajer Information and Services.
He was speaking at the conclusion of the Tube Arabia, Metal Middle East and Arabia Essen Welding & Cutting 2015 shows, jointly organised by Al Fajer with the two German giants Messe Düsseldorf and Messe Essen at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
The three industrial shows saw the launch of many new products and technologies. They attracted distinctive and diversified companies in metallurgical technology, thermo process technology, foundry machinery, metal working, tubes and pipes, and related welding technologies.
Khanna said: “Global manufacturers are recognising now the booming market in the region, mainly oil and gas, railway network and mega real estate projects. They look at these industrial shows as ideal platforms to boost their businesses in the region.”
Khanna added: “The three exhibitions represent a significant industry component of the industrial and manufacturing stake. The growth in the construction, energy and railway industries has boosted the shows and we saw a huge interest from international players in these sectors.” – TradeArabia News Service
