Alba wins GAC Health & Safety Award

MANAMA, December 1, 2014

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), a leading aluminium producer in the world, has won the 2014 GAC Health & Safety Award – Smelter Category.

The awarding ceremony was held recently as part of Arabal 2014 event in Bahrain.

The award was presented by GAC secretary general Mahmood Al Daylami and Alba chairman Shaikh Daij bin Salman bin Daij Al Khalifa to Alba chief executive officer Tim Murray.

The GAC Awards recognise excellence in health and safety performance for companies implementing best practices.

Speaking on the occasion, Murray said: “Alba is very proud to receive the prestigious GAC award, which we consider the benchmark for the GCC region. At Alba, we believe that the ownership of safety is everyone's responsibility.  I would like to thank the Alba Board, the Management, the Alba Labour Union and all employees and contractors for their support in this achievement.” – TradeArabia News Service
