Aluminium Bahrain honoured for industry role

MANAMA, November 16, 2014

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) was awarded an appreciation trophy for the company's contribution to the aluminium industry as well as its sponsorship support towards the GCC Power 2014 Conference and Exhibition.

The event was held earlier this month at the Gulf Hotel under the patronage of Minister of State for Electricity and Water Affairs Dr Abdulhussain Mirza and was organised by the GCC Regional Committee for Large Electric Systems, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

It highlighted the challenges facing the power sector in the region and enabled experts to develop business relations and exchange experiences.

Alba chief marketing officer Jean-Baptiste Lucas along with power and utilities director Amin Sultan, power operations manager Graeme John Legg and other employees from the Power Department represented the company at the event.

Sultan said Alba is proud of achieving self-sufficiency in meeting its extensive energy requirement.

'The company is able to support itself through its dedicated power plant, which has four environmentally-friendly and highly-efficient power stations.

'Participating and supporting an event such as the GCC Power 2014 Conference and Exhibition helps Alba to share its practices with the industry as well as gain more knowledge of this field.' – TradeArabia News Service
