Grandweld....design and build 42M crew boats for FNSA

Grandweld wins Fujairah National Shipping Agency deal

DUBAI, October 2, 2014

Grandweld, a fully integrated shipyard providing ship building, ship repair and engineering solutions to service the offshore and marine industry, has won a contract to design and build two 42-metre crew boats for Fujairah National Shipping Agency (FNSA).

Grandweld’s 42M Crew Boat is a world-class vessel fitted with IMO Tier 2 compliant main engines and advanced navigation and communication equipment, said a statement.

Designed to meet the client’s specific needs, the vessels can exceed a speed of 26 knots. FNSA’s boats will benefit from luxury seating, VIP accommodation, a larger deck space and enhanced comfort for the crew, it said.

The crew boats can seat 31 offshore personnel, and have a 100-sq-m cargo area for over 70 tonnes of deck cargo.

The vessels will be built at Grandweld’s yard in Dubai Maritime City, and will be capable of executing several missions such as security duties, fast transportation of offshore personal and cargo, supply of fuel and fresh water.

The FNSA is a subsidiary of Fujairah National Group (FNG), which is a leading APL and Shipping Agent in East Coast of UAE, owned by Sheikh Saleh Bin Mohammed Al Sharqi since 1982. - TradeArabia News Service
