Arab Potash Company in tyre recycling deal

Amman, May 12, 2014

Jordan's Arab Potash Company (APC), one of the world's largest producers of potash, has signed an agreement with two companies for recycling 1,300 tonnes of used tyres over two years in the kingdom.

The move is aimed at reducing the environmental impact of the large volume of used tyres that APC produces by virtue of its activities, and to support the recycling industries in Jordan, said a comany statement.

The Jordanian firm pointed out that it had been paying considerable attention to sustainable development through working to limit the environmental impact of its activities.

The company already boasts of having the ISO 14001 certificate of compliance in this regard, the statement added.-TradeArabia News Service
