Alba CEO launches 'Town Hall Meetings'

Manama, January 12, 2014

Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) Chief Executive Officer Tim Murray launched the ‘Town Hall Meeting’ today (January 12) for all Alba employees at the Oasis Hall.

Conducted by Murray, the meeting aims to update employees on Alba’s 2013 performance and the expectations for 2014 through presentations and interactive sessions.

“The purpose of the “Town Hall Meetings” is to communicate Alba’s performance in a simple and transparent manner.  Alba had a major achievement in terms of operational performance exceeding 900,000 metric tonnes for the first time in its 40-year history (912,700 tonnes).   In 2013, we also had a major upgrade in the safety culture for which I thank all our employees as well as the Alba Labour Union for their support. In 2014, we will continue to face challenging conditions with low LME prices and we will remain committed to drive operational excellence to the maximum,” he said.

The “Town Hall Meetings” will take place throughout January and will cover all employees of Alba.  They will highlight various areas including exceptional operational performance for the previous year, capital expenditure plan, goals for the coming year, and “Project Titan” cost improvement programme. The meeting will also highlight the significant improvements in safety during the year 2013 and the numerous safety initiatives for 2014, a statement said. – TradeArabia News Service
