Hyder Consulting, a leading multi-national design and engineering consultancy, has appointed Laura Hutchings as its new regional strategic advisor for its Middle East business.

Hutchings has joined Hyder to help strengthen client relationships and to bring an improved effort by focusing on the company’s key accounts. Hutchings’ expertise will help enhance productivity and cultivate value creation for its clients as the business implements its growth strategy, expanding into other regions of the GCC, a company statement said.

An Arabic speaking, results driven, relationship builder with 15 years of experience in the fields of aid, politics, and commercial diplomacy in the Mena region, Hutchings has intricate knowledge of the process and machinery of the UK Government and Parliament and high‐level relationships in Westminster and across the Gulf States.

“Laura joins us from Buckingham Palace where she was the principal and trusted advisor to The Duke of York on all matters relating to the Middle East,” said Wael Allan, Hyder’s regional managing director.
