The General Organisation of Sea Ports (GOP) sponsored the Innovation in Ship Operations Award at this year's Seatrade Awards in line with its efforts to promote excellence and innovation in the shipping and maritime industry.

This prestigious award category recognises the most innovative project that has the potential to significantly improve the efficiency of ship operations and/or cargo handling.

The winner, Lankhorst Touwfabrieken (Lankhorst Ropes), was announced during the prestigious awards dinner ceremony.

'The Seatrade Awards are the industry's most well respected and anticipated event of the year, as they aim to recognise leaders in the industry across a number of different categories,' said GOP director general Hassan Ali Al Majed.
