Manama, April 8, 2012
International private members club, The Firm (TF), has announced Tamkeen as the intrapreneurship partner for the Global Intrapreneurship Forum 2012 set to take place in Bahrain on May 27 and 28 at the Gulf Hotel.
The event will be the first global conference of its kind dedicated to supporting the development of intrapreneurship within corporations and SMEs, and for corporate entrepreneurs from the Mena region and internationally, a statement from Tamkeen said.
This partnership comes in line with Tamkeen’s mission to empower Bahrainis according to the market requirements and building enterprise capabilities to contribute to expanding the national economy, in line with Vision 2030.
Tamkeen will be the strategic partner and participant at the event, where it will help to encourage and impart knowledge to corporates and individuals seeking to develop new business ideas, projects and companies, the statement said.
The core concept of the forum will focus on building further awareness of the importance of innovating within organisations.
Additionally, it will help participants working within large corporations and SMEs better understand how they can leverage their deep industry knowledge and understanding of the business gaps within their sectors to create profitable, new commercial ventures.
The event is also supported by the Federation for the Gulf Chambers of Commerce (FGCC), Gulf Air, the event’s official airline, and Zawya, the media sponsor.
Abdullah Al Subyani, founder and CEO of The Firm, said: “Tamkeen’s mission and ongoing efforts to bolster private sector growth are fully aligned with the aims of the Global Intrapreneurship Forum2012,which provides the first global platform of its kind dedicated to supporting businesses, ranging from large corporates to SMEs, as well as individuals and investors to develop the right skills and networks to drive further innovation and collaboration within and between private sector organisations on a local, regional or international level.”
“Tamkeen’s participation and support for the Forum will help to ensure its success and add significant value for organizations and individuals looking to innovate and grow,” he said.
“Entrepreneurship is a key driver of sustainable economic growth, and as such Tamkeen has taken a leading role in championing the entrepreneurial culture through a wide range of entrepreneurship support programmes and initiatives,” said Hala Sulaiman, marketing communications manager, Tamkeen.
“We currently have 12 programmes dedicated to disseminating the entrepreneurial culture in Bahrain and supporting the nation’s budding entrepreneurs,” she said. “Starting at the educational institution level, our programmes cover everything from the recently-launched “Mashroo3i” youth business awards, to our multi-purpose start-up support scheme, as well as micro-financing options for women-owned home businesses.”
