Emirates Post launches new PO Box options

Dubai, December 5, 2011

Emirates Post Group has announced the launch of new improved PO Box services for individuals, starting January 1, 2012.

The highlight of the new PO Box bundles is a personal PO Box service for residents of villas in selected areas of Dubai, said a statement.

The new customized PO Box bundles for individuals were announced at a press conference attended by senior officials of Emirates Post Group, Emirates Post and Empost.

Of the four individual PO Box bundles, the all-new ‘My Home’ service allows residents of villas to have a personal mail-box installed on their compound wall, so that mail can be delivered directly to and collected from their doorstep.

The ‘My Building’ service enables residents of apartments to rent PO Boxes in the premises of their building, such as in the lobby or basement, so that they need not leave their building to collect their post, the statement said.

The third new option ‘My Zone’ delivers post through PO Box shelters set up in selected residential and commercial areas that are much closer for customers than outlying post offices.

The ‘My Box’ service refers to the existing PO Box service where subscribers rent PO Boxes at post offices of their choice. This service remains the same, with no changes to its existing structure or rules.

“Emirates Post is very pleased to launch a new range of mail delivery and collection options that have been designed to bring postal services closer to subscribers’ homes without the need to drive to post offices,” said Ibrahim Bin Karam, chief commercial officer (CCO), Emirates Post Group.

“We are now able to deliver mail to designated post boxes that have been custom installed according to the individual subscriber’s preference. This means that mail can be retrieved much more easily and efficiently, with the option of having mail delivered directly to one’s residence” he added.

“The Emirates Post P.O. Box bundle service represents a major leap forward for postal delivery in the UAE,” said Abdulla Mohammed Alashram, chief executive officer (CEO), Emirates Post. “For the first time in the country’s history, residents will be able to avail themselves of a cost-effective postal delivery mechanism that will bring their mail directly to their homes. This new service is a fitting milestone as we celebrate the 40th National Day,” he added.

The PO Box bundles have already commenced and are being rolled out throughout the UAE as an annual service, with subscribers choosing their preferred delivery option by visiting an Emirates Post office.  – TradeArabia News Service
