Skycom opens new Bahrain office

UAE-based Skycom, a leading courier and logistics, has started a new facility in Bahrain.

"We employ a skilled staff strengthen of 500 employees covering the Middle East and internationally servicing more than 150 destinations. The opening of a new Skycom facility in Bahrain is a milestone for the company," said country manager for Bahrain and Qatar, Ian Gabrielle.

Skycom started operations in the UAE in 1993 aiming at being a versatile company with services that extend beyond the traditional courier service. It now offers express courier, air cargo, land transport, logistics, warehousing, specialised clearance, handling services and tailor made customer requirements.

"At Skycom we aim to become a leading express service provider in the Middle East while expanding our strength to the globe," said Gabrielle. "We look at Bahrain as a potential market within the region.

"Currently we offer next day service to the GCC countries, 48 to 96 hours to the Indian sub-continent and soon we will be offering 48 to 72 hours delivery into Europe and US."

"Our vision is to be a global player in the courier industry with the excellence in products and services," said Skycom chief executive officer Girish Nair.
