Dubai Aluminium (Dubal), a major aluminium smelter, has won two category awards at the recently held Idea of the Year competition, held as part of a major international conference in Dubai.

Dubal was the platinum sponsor for the sixth Ideas.Arabia International Conference (Ideas.Arabia 2011), which took place at Westin Hotel & Resorts.

Dubal won the 2011 Ideas.Arabia health & safety award for its “Safety mechanical stopper for loading/unloading station” and the productivity award for a suggestion entitled “Modified transfer rolls at ingot casting machine”.

“This independent recognition highlights both the level of creativity within our organization and the inherent potential of inviting employees to engage with our company,” said Abdulla Kalban, president and CEO of Dubal.
