Qatar Nexans firm wins ISO certification

Qatar International Cables Company (QICC), a Nexans company, said it has been awarded the ISO 9001: 2008 registration from Bureau Veritas (BV).
The 9001: 2008 certification covers the design, manufacturing and sale of low, medium and high voltage cables for electrical applications, said a QICC statement.
The BV certification verifies that the management system of QICC has been audited and was found to be in accordance with the requirements of the management system standards of ISO 9001:2008, it added.
The certification manifests QICC efforts to maintain a successful management system covering different products and services, hence positioning QICC as a reliable reference partner in the cable industry.
Commenting on the certification, Cyprien Federspiel, general manager said, 'QICC puts quality at the core of its management system and improving our clients’ services is the pivotal target of our business vision.'

ISO standards, he said, were internationally-recognized as a template for organizing a quality management system that encompasses company operations, such as understanding and meeting customer requirements and delivering quality products and services.
Maher Cheikh Rouhou, System Certification Services manager of Bureau Veritas Qatar, said: 'ISO Standards ensure desirable characteristics of products and services such as quality, environmental friendliness, safety, reliability, efficiency and interchangeability - and at an economical cost.'
'During the audits we verified that the Quality Management System enables QICC to achieve the goals and objectives set out in its policy and strategy.
QICC was established in 2008 as a joint venture company between Nexans and partners in Qatar, and it is fully managed by Nexans with its head quarters in Mesaieed.-TradeArabia News Service
