Superyacht builders to debut at Saudi show

Dubai, October 31, 2010

Trinity Yachts and Westport, two of the world’s most renowned superyacht builders, have confirmed their first appearance at the upcoming 'Saudi International Boat Show' in Jeddah.

'Saudi International Boat Show,' which is the kingdom’s largest annual leisure marine tourism event, will run from December 8 to 11 at the Al Furusya Marina & Yacht Club in Jeddah.

Centrally located on the gulf coast of the US, Trinity Yachts is an elite builder of custom superyachts, capable of delivering any boat design in sizes of up to 123 metres. It specialises in steel and aluminium construction with emphasis on European quality.

Westport, on the other hand, has over 46 years of experience in yacht building. It was a pioneer in the use of composite materials in yacht and commercial construction and has so far completed over 120 yachts and several commercial vessels.

The presence of these renopwned groups, reaffirms the show’s emergence as one of the world’s premier boating events.

“Westport considers the Saudi International Boat Show a major opportunity to build on existing relationships and form new partnerships whilst showcasing the kind of products, customer support and expertise that has earned our brand a loyal global following,” said Philip Purcell, vice president, Westport.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the boat show is endorsed by the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities. The event venue is being managed by Al Ahlam Marine Tourism Group, which incorporates Dream Divers and Saudi Yachts.

This year’s show will feature a dedicated Supplies & Services Pavilion displaying a wide range of navigation equipment, engines and fixtures and fittings in addition to a 'Marina Display Area' showcasing the latest models of superyachts, leisure crafts, fishing boats, power boats and sailing boats from around the world.

'Around one third of the world’s fleet of superyachts are owned by Middle East residents, many of which originated from Saudi Arabia, which makes the show the ideal platform for yacht builders to promote their luxury products & services,' said Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO of Dubai World Trade Centre.

'The inclusion of Trinity Yachts and Westport in our exhibitor lineup reflects the growing prominence of the Kingdom in particular as the most untapped & lucrative leisure marine market,' he added.

Saudi International Boat Show 2010 will also include a full weekend of festivities highlighted by the Dive Village, Saudi Arabia's only dedicated diving village where diving lessons and other activities related to diving and marine tourism will be conducted.-TradeArabia News Service
