DP World scoops 2 Seatrade ME awards

Global marine terminal operator DP World scooped up two top honours at the prestigious Seatrade Middle East and Indian Subcontinent Awards 2010.

Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah, group chief executive and joint vice chairman, DP World, won the Seatrade Lifetime Achievement Award while DP World, UAE region won the Container Terminal Operator Award.

The citation praised Bin Thaniah’s life-long commitment to the maritime industry and remarkable contribution towards the development of DP World as one of the top marine terminal operators in the world.

The citation for the award lauded DP World for its TEU throughput performance, cost efficiency, turnaround time and value added services delivered at its terminal facilities. DP World has won this award for the second consecutive year.

“I regard this not as a personal award, but as recognition of the terrific team and dedicated individual efforts that have made DP World what it is today – the third largest port operator in the world,” stated Jamal Majid Bin Thaniah.
