Emirates Extrusion Factory (EEF), one of the leading aluminium extrusion companies in the UAE, has received a top international quality certification for powder coating processes and products.

The certification verifying the entire powder coating process, from the powder used to the application of that powder, is awarded by Switzerland-based Qualicoat, an international quality label organization committed to maintaining and promoting the quality of lacquering, painting and coating on aluminium and its alloys for architectural applications.

“With the Qualicoat certification, we receive official acknowledgment of our quality control procedures being at par with the highest international standards,” said Khalfan Al Suwaidi, managing director of EEF, a subsidiary of M’Sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments.

“The Qualicoat label will add considerable value to Emirates Extrusion powder coated products and will provide the company with a distinct competitive edge.”

“Moreover, the certification assures our customers of coated products that meet a clearly defined quality and performance criteria and which comply with international standards,” he added.

The audit, inspection and tests at EEF were undertaken by IFO (Institut Fur Oberflachentechnik), a Qualicoat-accredited German laboratory.

In receiving the Qualicoat approval, Emirates Extrusion has become a permanent member of the QMEA (Qualicoat Middle East Association).

EEF had recently adopted new measures aimed at further enhancing the quality of its anodized and powder coated profiles, which included the introduction of a new water treatment line that has a daily capacity of 90 cu m and which is capable of supplying water with a quality less than 35 mg per litre – ideal for anodizing and powder coating of aluminium profiles.

The company had also boosted its powder coating line by installing a high-quality powder booth and by adding guns and reciprocators, which together will help improve quality, maximize production and reduce downtime, a statement said.

Qualicoat defines comprehensive quality requirements and technical specifications and monitors their compliance by licensed plants worldwide.
