Al-Futtaim Logistics wins Caterpillar contract

Al-Futtaim Logistics has won a new contract from Caterpillar, leading manufacturers of construction and mining equipment, to provide third-party logistics (3PL) services for the company in the Middle East.

A leading supply chain management solutions provider, Al-Futtaim group said under the deal, it will provide customs brokerage in to and out of Dubai, freight forwarding services in addition to complete road transportation solutions for Caterpillar’s product distribution center in the emirate.
 
Tom Nauwelaerts, head of Logistics at Al-Futtaim said: “We are extremely proud to have won this contract with Caterpillar. Al-Futtaim Logistics’ demonstrated capabilities, well established transport experience in the UAE and the region, solid infrastructure, strategic location and competitive pricing model were key elements in the decision being made in our favour.'

'Our strong network enables us to provide the contracted services at the agreed times and within the defined budget,' he remarked.

Caterpillar’s PDC has been developed to increase the velocity of product through the supply chain and therefore improve delivery time to its dealers. The PDC provides high levels of sustained services and short availability.
