A rail line from Bahrain International Airport will stop at the Bahrain-Qatar Friendship Causeway, connecting the county to the broader GCC rail network, it has emerged.

Known as the Red Line, the Light Rail Transport (LRT) system will stop at a new 'transit hub' to be built near Alba.

'This will ensure direct rail connectivity between Bahrain and Qatar and then onwards to Saudi Arabia and the rest of the GCC,' Works Ministry road planning and design director Huda Abdulla Fakhroo revealed yesterday.-TradeArabia News Service
