Emirates Boat Show to showcase 150 top brands

The second edition of 'Emirates Boat Show 2009' opens its doors in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday showcasing more than 150 leading brands represented by exhibitors from 20 countries.

The international exhibition organised by Knotika Boat shows, in collaboration with Global Business Services (GBS) will be open for visitors for 5 days till December 12 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (Adnec).

The latest products from exhibitors including luxury yachts and cruisers, sailing boats, houseboats, marinas, diving, fishing, sport boats, navigational equipment, charter boats, boats accessories, boat interiors, kayaks, jet skis, luxury taxi boat and other related items, will float on Adnec Marina for five days presenting a luxurious marine lifestyle.

Wael Juju, chief executive officer- Knotika Holding, said: 'The international show is a great opportunity not only for marine enthusiast, but it is expected to attract investors from different social and economical sectors such as trade, sports, tourism and others.'

'This show will set base for creating a boating community in one of the richest cities in the world “Abu Dhabi” and one of the biggest waterfront projects owner in the region,' he remarked.

Francesco Pitea, general manager of IMG Boats, a division of the Ilyas and Mustafa Galadari Group and exhibitors in this year’s Emirates Boat Show 2009 said: 'This is our first appearance at the show as the company was established only last year by the Ilyas &Mustafa Galadari Group.'

'It is an significant event and gives us the opportunity to showcase the great qualities of IMG Boats, which combine great style, superior performance, better fuel economy and a more generous range of standard features which ultimately means boat lovers get a lot more for their money. While this is a very young company, we already feel that we are taking tournament fishing and family enjoyment to new heights.”

Edna A. Dimaano of Abu Dhabi-based Al Masaood Marine, said, 'We have supported Abu Dhabi from the beginning and grown with city. It is great to see the vision of Abu Dhabi developing and maturing. We will continue to proudly support the local markets and industries.'

The other major exhibitors include Art Marine, Sunseeker ME, IMG, Gulf Craft, Leisure Marine, Al Halami, Emocean Marine, Al Marakeb and Ghantoot Marina. Also major brands from across the globe include Riva, Azimut, Majesty, Numarine, Benetti, Atlantis, Princess, Rizardi, Doral, Larson,Hatteras  Riviera, Outerlimit, Princess and Sunseeker.

The expo is open to public from 4 pm till 10 pm and the entrance tickets have been priced at Dh40 ($10.8) per person a day.-TradeArabia News Service
