Dubai, October 22, 2009
Leading global internal logistics and materials handling companies and key government institutions will take part in a major show in Dubai in February.
CeMat Middle East, the world’s largest trade show for internal logistics and materials handling, will be held from February 9-11 at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, the organiser of the show, said international investors have been particularly impressed with the UAE's efforts to establish itself as a global logistics hub with around $26 billion in investments being made to develop the country's air and sea infrastructure facilities.
The high-profile projects underway in the UAE include the $7 billion Dubai World Central airport initiated by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, the Abu Dhabi Airport Company’s $6.5 billion expansion program for the UAE capital’s airport - including a logistics park- and a $1.6 billion expansion program for the Jebel Ali Port by Dubai Ports Authority.
CeMat Middle East will run concurrently with MDA Middle East and IA Middle East. All the three shows are being organised by Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, the regional arm of Deutsche Messe Hannover - Germany, one of the world’s leading international trade fair organisers with a global portfolio of over 100 niche events. CeMAT, MDA and IA trade fairs are spin-offs from their mother shows in Hannover, with successful annual editions in Shanghai, Mumbai, Istanbul and Moscow.
Angela Schaschen, managing director of Deutsche Messe Dubai Branch, said: “There has been a remarkably strong response from international exhibitors, trade buyers and government agencies to the CeMat, MDA and IA trade shows. The positive attitude of industry players towards the trade events reflects the region's excellent market conditions as private and public sector organisations continue to invest for the long-term through various infrastructure development projects and technology adoption. Moreover, the concurrent trade shows have been organised to cover the Middle East, Africa, Indian sub-continent and Central Asian region, which translates to wider market coverage and more business prospects for all trade participants."
The inaugural Dubai edition of CeMat Middle East will host world leaders in mechanical handling, warehouse technology, workshop equipment, packaging and order picking equipment systems for materials handling technology, warehouse technology, loading technology, internal logistics – systems and software, services and outsourcing.
MDA Middle East, the international trade fair for motion, drive and automation, is a key segment of the world’s oldest and largest industrial and technology trade fair Hannover Messe. Focusing on key categories like hydraulics and pneumatics, fluid power generation, production equipment, bearings, sealing technology, sealants, services and software for drives, gears, hydraulics and pneumatics, the show will attract a wide cross-section of professionals, engineers, technocrats, R&D managers and decision makers from across the industrial sectors led by the oil and gas, energy, distributive trades, government and public sector, plant engineering, petrochemical and construction segments.
IA Middle East, the international trade fair for factory, process and industrial building automation, is also an important segment of Hannover Messe, highlighting critical areas in automation i.e. assembling and handling systems, industrial image processing systems, control systems, PLC, SCADA, sensors, actuators, industrial building automation systems, safety and security systems, industrial IT and software, among others. The trade fair aims to offer the latest innovations, solutions and products to enhance the development and rising awareness in the area of quality manufacturing practices.
Being specifically launched to cover the wider Middle East, Africa, the Indian sub-continent, CIS and the Central Asian region, the new shows will leverage the synergies that evolve from a unique combination of three highly-focused trade show profiles, the organiser said. – TradeArabia News Service
